Sometimes, Making A Difference starts with something as simple as a paintbrush.

If you have driven through downtown Wanamaker recently, you have probably noticed the beautiful new artwork at the corner of Southeastern and Northeastern Avenues. What many may not know is that it was created by Franklin Central High School alumna Christina Hollering, whose journey came full circle as she returned to celebrate the community that first inspired her creativity.

A high school teacher at FCHS found out and connected us with an Eagle Scout looking for a project. What a fantastic couple of days at New Teacher Orientation! On Wednesday and Thursday, we officially welcomed 70 new Flashes to the FTCSC Flashes Community! We are so grateful for the vast experience and fresh perspectives our newest teachers are bringing to our classrooms.

Thanks to sessions led by our dedicated district and building leaders, our new educators are set up for a great start.

We also want to extend a sincere THANK YOU to Franklin Township Education Foundation, Franklin Township Education Association, Everwise, and Corebridge! Your support with meals, supplies, and goodies made our new team feel so appreciated and right at home!

Today the Bumblebees had an open-ended STEM and sensory lab! They were free to move from table to table at their own pace, choosing activities that sparked their curiosity. Our water tables, filled with scoops, measuring cups, flowers, petals, and bottles, encouraged measuring, pouring, and imaginative exploration while strengthening fine motor skills and early math concepts. The baking soda and vinegar experiment tables invited them to investigate chemical reactions, make predictions, and explore cause and effect. Two smaller personal water tables provided a quieter space for focused play. This slow-paced, child-led experience gave every child the opportunity to explore, experiment, and learn through hands-on play while supporting early science, math, and social-emotional development. 💛 🐝 #HomeOfTheTrailblazers #FutureFlashes #ProudToBeAFlash #IgnitingPurpose #WeAreFlashes
